I cut my teeth in journalism as a copy writer, a public
relations director, a general news reporter, a contributing editor, a chief
editorial writer and a news bureau chief.
I became Senior Associate Editor of Armed Forces News in 2000 and moved up to Special Correspondent in 2008. I have written articles for more than two dozen magazines and have had six books published. The latest is The Buffie Brigade. A retired U.S. Marine officer, I hold a Freedom's Foundation George Washington Honor Medal for my essay," Freedom has a Price." I am listed in recent editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and other biographical publications. I am a national board member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and a past president of my state MOAA council. I am on the board of my county veterans' council and am past president of a five-county chapter of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. I have a B.A. in sociology and literature, summa cum laude, from Park University, Missouri, and have completed the graduate level National Security Management Course given by the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. I also graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College by distance learning, and have done graduate work in military studies at American Military University. |
